FAQ Answers: The Differences between Business and Personal Host
  1. What is the Difference Between Business & Personal Hosting Plans?

Business Hosting Plans: Receive more generous resources for the same level plan, e.g. more web space, bandwidth, number of email accounts, logins, databases, mailing lists, etc. Business customers can receive telephone technical support, in addition to the community support forum, and HelpDesk support. Priority response to email and forum support requests.

Personal Hosting Plans: Less generous resources as standard. No telephone technical support offered.

  2. Why Does the Difference Exist?

A business is expected to require more resources, have more users and pay a higher penalty (in terms of lost customers, etc.) if their services are disrupted.

A personal customer is expected to have only a few users, or possibly only one user, therefore requiring fewer resources. Be inconvenienced rather than “out-of-pocket” if their services are disrupted.

  3. Can an Individual Purchase a Business Hosting Plan?

Certainly, and you would be entitled to all the benefits of a business customer, however you would have to pay the same prices as a business customer too.

  4. Can a Business Purchase a Personal Hosting Plan?

Certainly, however you would be restricted to the same conditions as a Personal customer, and BlackZen estimate that this would not be acceptable for the vast majority of business needs and expectations. You are strongly advised to consider a Business Hosting Plan for Business needs.
